    Outdoor or garden wall

For an existing garden wall, we typically place an acoustic barrier on the source side, more effective than reinforcing the wall itself.

    • Kokowall (pressed coconut fibre): DLα up to 12 dB, plantable
    • Noise-Reducer steel + mineral wool: DLR up to 32 dB
    • Wooden panels with absorbing core
    • Transparent PMMA top-up on existing walls

    Indoor wall

Indoors we use mass or a decoupled stud wall. An acoustic stud wall with mineral wool and double plasterboard adds 10 to 15 dB without demolishing the existing wall.

    Realistic dB reduction

10 to 20 dB(A) on garden walls; 10 to 15 dB extra on indoor stud walls; 15 to 30 dB on full acoustic enclosures.

Frequently asked questions about wall sound insulation

    Insulation vs absorption?+

Insulation blocks sound passing through a wall. Absorption reduces reverberation in the room. Good solutions often combine both.

Can an existing garden wall be improved?+

Yes, by adding an acoustic barrier on the source side or a transparent top-up.
