Garden noise barrier with coir filling, Bruges
Installation of an ecological noise barrier in a residential garden in Bruges. The family had been suffering for years from the noise of the busy regional road behind their home.
The challenge
The garden of this home adjoins a busy N-road. The family could hardly sit outside due to the constant traffic noise. The municipality had no plans to install a public noise barrier.
Our solution
We installed an 18-metre-long and 2.5-metre-high coir noise barrier. The natural appearance of the coir filling blends perfectly into the green garden environment. The coir panels were placed between steel I-beams.

The result
A noise reduction of 22 dB(A) was achieved. The family now enjoys their garden again, and they particularly appreciate the natural look of the barrier.
