Noise control for agriculture and livestock
Modern stables run on forced ventilation with large axial fans. Digesters, biogas plants and grain dryers add continuously running motors. In permit disputes with neighbours in a rural municipality, an acoustic file is often decisive. Noise Solutions designs barriers that comply with VLAREM and resist the harsh agricultural environment.
Typical noise sources on a farm
Ventilators of pig and poultry stables (60 to 75 dB continuous), biogas engines of digesters (85 to 95 dB), grain milling and drying installations at harvest (80 to 90 dB peaks). Each needs a different approach, all often running outside office hours.
Our approach
For stable ventilation we install absorbing Noise-Reducer barriers in the dominant emission direction (usually towards residential zones). For digesters we build enclosures around the engine unit. All materials are corrosion-protected for ammonia fumes and dust.
Legal framework
Agricultural operations fall under VLAREM II class 1 or 2 depending on size. New stables or expansions face increasingly strict acoustic testing. We work with certified acoustic consultants to substantiate the environmental permit file.
Result
Reduction of 10 to 18 dB towards the nearest homes, usually enough to fall below the VLAREM limit. Permit supported by a measurement report, fewer complaints to the environmental officer.
Recommended materials
Noise-Reducer with corrosion protection
Resists ammonia fumes in stable environments.
Rock wool enclosure
Around motor units of digesters and dryers.
Stainless steel anchoring
Long life despite humidity and agricultural chemistry.
