What does a soundwall cost in the garden?
The price of a soundwall or acoustic barrier depends on four factors: material, height, length and site accessibility. Below you will find indicative prices per square metre, based on hundreds of projects Noise Solutions carried out in Belgium and Luxembourg.
Indicative soundwall price per square metre
The following prices include delivery and installation by our own team, excluding VAT, for a standard garden up to 2.5 m in height.
- Wooden soundwall: from approximately 200 EUR per m²
- Bamboo soundwall: from approximately 250 EUR per m²
- Coconut acoustic wall (Kokowall): from approximately 320 EUR per m²

- Steel soundwall (Noise-Reducer): from approximately 280 EUR per m², with economies of scale on larger projects
What determines the price of a soundwall?
Besides material, three elements determine the final price. Height: a 3 m acoustic wall typically costs double an 1.8 m one, since heavy foundations are needed. Accessibility: if a truck or crane cannot reach the site, installation time increases. Foundation: pile foundations in soil are cheaper than drilling into concrete or anchoring to a retaining wall.

Frequently asked questions about soundwall pricing
Is a cheaper soundwall also effective?+
Not necessarily. Many webshops sell lightweight garden panels marketed as a "soundwall" that barely reduce noise by 3 to 5 dB. A genuine acoustic wall needs sufficient mass (at least 10 kg/m²) and an absorbing layer to achieve over 10 dB reduction.
Can I get a grant or subsidy for a soundwall?+
In Flanders there are no direct grants for private soundwalls. Some municipalities offer occasional support in zones with proven traffic noise nuisance. For industrial projects, soundwalls can qualify under green investment support.
How many metres do I need?+
An acoustic wall should be at least twice as long as the distance between you and the source, otherwise the noise wraps around it. We calculate the optimal length for free on site.
